EDC collaborates with Critical Care Medicine on new NIH grant to study out of hospital pediatric cardiac arrests in children

The EDC, will be heading the data management and analysis of a newly funded R01 that will focus on optimizing outcome classification and ultimately improving outcomes in children after cardiac arrest. The study is led by Ericka Fink, MD, an Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine and Pediatrics and Dr. Anthony Fabio is a Co-investigator. Funded by the National Institutes of Neurologic Diseases and Stroke (NINDS), the $3 million grant is entitled,

“Development of Serum, Imaging, and Clinical Biomarker Driven Models to Direct Clinical Management after Pediatric Cardiac Arrest.”

Eight pediatric centers will participate in the 5-year study, which will begin this summer.
