Dr. Wendy King recognized as a World Expert in Obesity for being among the top 0.1% of obesity researchers in the last decade based on peer-reviewed publications

Since 2012, Dr. King has published 63 peer-reviewed articles evaluating weight-related conditions and treatments, including 17 first-author, 37 second-author and 7 senior author publications. Her work is regularly published in high-impact journals (e.g., JAMA, JAMA Internal Medicine, JAMA Surgery, Annals of Surgery), and has impacted clinical care, garnered numerous research awards and speaking invitations, and been covered by international and national news outlets. Dr. King is currently a multiple Principal Investigator, with Dr. Steven Belle, of the data coordinating center (DCC) for The Physiology of the Weight Reduced State Clinical Trial Consortium, which aims to determine the extent, durability and metabolic and biobehavioral mechanisms for physiologic adaptations to weight loss, as well as the Principal Investigator of the DCC for a 21-site study evaluating novel biomarkers of Hepatitis B. In addition to studying obesity and liver disease Dr. King is involved in several COVID-19 related projects and has two recent first-author publications examining COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
