EDC to serve as the Data Coordinating Center for new NIH study

The EDC will serve as the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) for the Myocardial Ischemia and Transfusion (MINT) trial which was recently funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).

MINT is a 5-year randomized clinical trial designed to test red blood cell transfusion strategies for inpatients who are diagnosed with myocardial infarction and anemia.  Sixty hospital sites in the United States and Canada will participate in the trial.

Maria Mori Brooks, Ph.D., Marnie Bertolet, Ph.D., and Sheryl Kelsey, Ph.D. will lead the DCC in conjunction with Jeffery Carson, M.D. who will lead the Clinical Coordinating Center located at Rutgers University.
