EDC Faculty member Anthony Fabio will present a study titled “Gunshot Wounds to the Head: The Epidemiology of Severe Pediatric Firearm-Related Traumatic Brain Injuries

Anthony Fabio will present the results of the study at the at the 2017 Society for Violence and Injury Research Annual Meeting (www.savirweb.org/conference).

Firearm-related injuries are the leading cause of death from traumatic brain injury (TBI) in the US. However, little is known about the characteristics of children treated in a hospital for a firearm related TBI. He will present data from the Approaches and Decisions in Acute Pediatric TBI (ADAPT) Trial (www.adapttrial.org).
